Malkuth Update

A new version of Malkuth, version 0.9.28, is now available. You can read the install instructions here. The new version pushes back the stop date by 7 months as described in section 2.03 (e) of the software license, and implements some minor security improvements as described in section 2.07. Please update the client at your earliest convenience using these links.

Tools and Infrastructure Development

Zen JS

ZenJS is a javascript library for Zen Protocol, akin to Ethereum’s Web3. Amongst other functionality, Zen JS enables one to create and sign transactions using a web browser.

Remote Node Service

Some users do not need/wish to run a full node. A remote node — a hosted node that uses a JSON-RPC API to communicate with a local service — is now available.

Web Wallet

The web wallet provides a way to access Zen Protocol without running a full node. Note that web wallets are intrinsically less secure than locally installed wallets. The web wallet is available via browser at wallet.zp.io.

Block Explorer

A web-based block explorer is available at zp.io. One can use the block explorer to discover and analyze the network’s transactions and contracts.

Ledger Integration

Ledger support for signing Zen Protocol transactions is in development. The sources have been submitted to Ledger and are pending review. Upon Ledger’s review and approval, a Zen Protocol app will be available in the Ledger app store. It will be possible to use Ledger devices with the Zen Protocol desktop and web wallets in order to securely sign transactions.

Contract Templates

Advanced mechanisms for generating and discovering contracts are under development, the progress can be monitored here.

Secure Cold Storage Transactions

Support for creating cold storage transactions has been developed and is now included in ZenJS, the documentation is available here.

The second half of 2018 developments focused on enhancing the usability of Zen Protocol by end users. We look forward to providing increased economic utility and liberty in 2019.
